Women's Tennis Improves to 4-0 on Florida Trip with 9-0 Victory over John Carroll

Orlando, Fla. (February 29, 2008)--The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team improved to 4-0 on their spring trip to Florida with a 9-0 rout of John Carroll. With the win, the Mount moves to 11-6 on the season.

The Mount swept the singles matches, losing just 16 games combined in the six matches. Kaitlin Hallahan paced the Mount at No. 1 singles, posting a 6-2, 6-2 win over Sara Crane. Ashley Wentzel made quick order of Hillary Fulp at No. 6 singles, sweeping the match 6-0, 6-0. Chelsea Johnson (No. 2), Emily Bolchoz (No. 3), Emma Haley (No. 4) and Emily Grugan (No. 5) were also winners.

In doubles action, Haley and Bolchoz cruised to an 8-2 win at the No. 1 spot while Johnson and Hallahan swept the No. 2 spot, 8-0. Alissa Thayer and Emily Grugan posted an 8-5 win at the No. 3 positon.
