Emmitsburg, Md. (October 17, 2008)--Robert Morris rallied from a 3-1 second-half defict to defeat Mount St. Mary's, 4-3, in Northeast Conference women's soccer action at Waldron Family Stadium on Friday afternoon. The Mount's Emily Menotti (Dover, Pa./Dover) and Meghan Haspert (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) each had a goal and an assist in the loss for the Mount.

The Colonials (5-8-0, 1-3-0 NEC) opened the scoring just 3:46 into the game when Jess Sharik took a pass from Jennifer Tobar and converted a breakaway goal for a 1-0 advantage. The Mount evened the score 2:35 before the half when Mary McCarron (Beltsville, Md./Elizabeth Seton) scored her first collegiate goal. The play started with a Mount free kick by Sadie Winship (York, Pa./Eastern York) from 30 yards out. Menotti got a a head on the ball and flicked it to a wide open McCarron, who buried the shot from right in front of the goal.

The Mount (2-12-1, 1-3-1 NEC) came out flying in the second half, scoring twice in the opening eight minutes. Haspert scored the first goal when she rocketed a shot from the top of the penalty box for her second goal of the season 5:22 into the second half. The goal was the 10th of her career at the Mount. Just 2:37 later, the Mount added another goal to stretch the lead to 3-1. Haspert started the play with a long ball to Menotti, who converted her breakaway goal.

Robert Morris struck back when Brianna Bell tallied her first goal of the year 10:18 into the second half. Bell took a pass across the top of the penalty area from Jennifer Tobar and beat Mount goalkeeper Alicia Miller (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) to the lower left side of the net. The Colonials had a chance to tie when they were awarded a penalty kick with 18:21 left in the game. Miller, however, came up with a big save as she dove to her right to stop a shot by Sharik.

Playing a player down due to a pair of yellow cards to one of their players, Robert Morris evened the score with 8:50 left in the game. Rachel Sebbens took a nice feed from Heather Niznik for a one-on-one with the goalie which she converted to make the score 3-3. The Colonials got the game-winner with 1:18 left off a play from a corner kick. Sharik took the corner kick, which resulted in the ball bouncing high in the air in front of the Mount goal. Jessica Weary took advantage by heading in the ball into the open net for the decisive goal.

Robert Morris held a 25-to-18 advantage in shots in the game and an 8-0 edge in corner kicks. Miller made seven saves for the Mount while Caitlin Dilal made nine saves for the Colonials.

The Mount returns to action on Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. home game against Saint Francis (Pa.) at Waldron Family Stadium.
