BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Matt Logie (Germantown,
Md./Northwest) paced the Mount St. Mary's men's cross country team
with a 93rd place finish at the Brooks Paul Short Invitational
hosted by Lehigh on Friday. The Mount men finished 37th while the
Mountaineer women posted a 47th-place showing.
At the same course the NCAA Regionals
will be held on Nov. 10, Logie was the top Mount St. Mary's
finisher after finishing in 93rd place with a time of 25:49. Morgan
Sowell (Frederick, Md./Frederick) (171st place, 26:28), Kyle Ryan
(New Market, Md./Liganore) (172nd place, 26:29), Justin Brackett
(Point Pleasant, N.J./Toms River North) (220th place, 27:07), Will
Mitchell (Laurel, Md./Dematha Catholic) (250th place, 28:06), Kevin
Morrison (Catonsville, Md./Mount St. Joseph) (254th place, 28:17)
and Jonathan Strike (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) (261st place,
28:50) also competed in the event for the men.
Villanova won the event on the men's side
while Syracuse, Princeton, Pennsylvania and LaSalle rounded out the
Top-5 teams. The Mount finished 37th on the afternoon.
On the women's side, Liz Kessler (Mount
Laurel, N.J./Paul VI) led the Mountaineers with a 240th-place
standing and a time of 24:16. Jess Rafeedie (Germantown,
Md./Northwest) (287th place, 25:20), Brianne Vozzella (Hershey,
Pa./Lower Dauphin) (291st place, 25:37), Casey Fleischer
(Westminster, Md./Westminster) (294th place, 25:45), Anna Scull
(Sunbury, Pa./Milton Hershey) (313st place, 27:51) and Brianna
Mannuccia (Wrightstown, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) (314th
place, 28:27) rounded out the Mount St. Mary's competitiors.
Princeton won the event on the women's
side while West Virginia, Texas Tech, Wisconsin and Stony Brook
each placed in the Top-5. The Mount finished 47th.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the
Tribe Open hosted by William & Mary on Oct. 13.
