LEWISBURG, Pa. - The doubles team of
Kaitlin Hallahan (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast) and Emma Haley (Triffin,
Ohio/Calvert) won a match in the consolation round to lead the
women's tennis team at the Bucknell Invitational on Friday.
After falling to a doubles team from
Bucknell, Hallahan and Haley rebounded to take a match from a
doubles team from Northeast Conference rival Fairleigh Dickinson,
8-4. The duo moves into the semifinals of the consolation round of
Flight "A".
Cheslea Johnson (Downington, Pa./21st
Century Cyber School) and Emily Bolchoz (Tequesta, Fla./Kolbe
Academy) lost to Duquesne and Fairleigh Dickinson in Flight
"A".
In the Flight "B" doubles, Ashley Wentzel
(Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) lost to Duquense and Bucknell
while Alissa Thayer (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) and Samantha
Dupaya (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spading) lost consecutive
matches to doubles teams from Loyola.
Due to rain early in the day, two rounds
of doubles were played instead of singles. Saturday will start with
two rounds of singles followed by one round of doubles.
