The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team lost to Monmouth, 7-0, at
the MSM Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the
Mount drops to 7-5 overall and 3-1 vs. NEC opponents.
The Mount pair of Jeff Lamberton and Rob Dupaya won 8-5 over
Monmouth's Tim McLane and Vik Gupta at the No. 2 doubles position,
but the Hawks won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to earn the doubles
point. In singles action, Lamberton fought hard in a three-set
loss to Tom Corrie at the No. 2 singles position. Lamberton fell
by scores of 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 6-4.
The Mount returns to action on Wednesday with a 2:30 p.m. match
at Georgetown.
