Lebo Makes 17 Saves in Mount's 1-0 Upset over First-Place Monmouth

West Long Branch, N.J. (November 4, 2007)--Senior Anna Lebo (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) made 17 saves to lead Mount St. Mary's to a 1-0 win over Northeast Conference leading Monmouth on Sunday afternoon. Emily Menotti (Dover, Pa./Dover) scored for the Mount 11:46 into the game to provide the winning goal. The Mount finished the 2007 season 5-13 overall and 3-6 in the Northeast Conference.

Menotti one-timed a pass from Karyn Farrar (Mount Airy, Md./South Carroll) past the Monmouth (10-4-4, 6-2-1 NEC) goalkeeper for her third goal of the season to give the Mount a 1-0 lead. That was all Lebo needed as the senior made a season-high 17 saves for her 10th career shutout.

Monmouth had several chances to score in the game, hitting the cross bar on five occasions. Lebo made four saves in a span of 45 seconds over the final two minutes of the game to preserve the victory.

Lebo, the Mount's all-time leader in saves and shutouts, helped the Mount overcome an overwhelming 35-to-3 shot advantage by Monmouth. Lebo finishes her career with 350 saves and 10 shutouts.
