Women's Soccer Upends Second-Place Quinnipiac, 1-0

Emmitsburg, Md. (October 19, 2007)--Colleen Regan (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) scored in the 21st minute to lift Mount St. Mary's to a 1-0 win over Quinnipiac in Northeast Conference women's soccer action on Friday afternoon. Anna Lebo (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) made one save to earn her third shutout victory of the season in goal for the Mount.

Regan collected a pass from Meghamn Brennan (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) in the penalty box and beat Quinnipiac (9-3-1, 2-1-1 NEC) goalkeeper Chloe Beizer to give the Mount a 1-0 advantage. The Mount defense was able to preserve the victory over the second-place Bobcats.

The Mount was outshot, 8-to-6, in the game while the Bobcats held a 4-to-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Mount returns to action on Sunday, October 21, when Central Connecticut State visits Waldron Family Stadium on campus for a 1:00 p.m. game. It is the Mount's final home game of the season and this year's senior class will be honored prior to the kick-off.
