Thurmont, Md. (October 18, 2007)--The Mount St.
Mary's women's tennis team defeated Coppin State, 7-0, on Thursday
afternoon at Catoctin High School. The Mount improves to 7-3 on
the year with the victory.
Kaitlin Hallahan paced the
Mount with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles over Ana Sebescen.
Sophomore Chelsea Johnson won a hard-fought match, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 at
the No. 2 singles while Emily Bolchoz was a straight-set winner at
the No. 3 position. Emma Haley (6-2, 6-0) won at No. 4 singles and
Emily Grugan blanked Amatul Bean, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 5 singles
spot.
In doubles action, Bolchoz
and Johnson teamd for an 8-2 win at the No. 1 spot while Hallahan
and Haley were 8-2 victors at No. 2 doubles.
The Mount concludes the fall
season at Saint Joseph's on Saturday.
