Sophomore Matt Logie finished in fifth place overall at the
Tribe Open hosted by The College of William and Mary on Saturday
afternoon. Logie helped lead the Mount men to a fourth-place
finish in the event. The women's team finished sixth overall,
paced by top runner Liz Kessler.
Logie completed the 8K course in a time of 25:25 to lead the
Mount. He was followed by senior Zach Emerson, who finished 14th
in the field with a mark of 25:54. Sophomore Morgan Sowell was
30th overall with a time of 26:38. He was followed by Dustin Bauer
(34th, 26:52) and Justin Brackett (39th, 27:09).
Kessler's 30th place finish led the Mount women. She finished
the 6K course with a time of 25:23. Samantha Willox was the
Mount's second-fastest finisher, placing 48th with a mark of
26:39. Kaitlin Greene (26:43), Brianne Vozzella (27:04) and Casey
Mae Fleischer (27:04) rounded out the Mount's top five.
The Mount returns to action on October 27th at the Northeast
Conference Championships which will be held at Van Cortland Park in
the Bronx, N.Y.
