MAAC CHAMPIONSHIP MERCHANDISE
EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 13, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Cross Country/Track & Field
Jay Phillips received Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year from his peers in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Wednesday.
Phillips led the Mountaineers' men's team to their first championship in seven years, winning the MAAC Championship on home turf this past weekend. The team scored 183.5 points, 76.5 points of the second place finisher. It marks the fifth championship for the squad at the Division I level. Abdulazeez Iyiola breaking a MAAC Championship record in the 400 hurdles,
Tyler Cash's win in the pole vault, and the quartet of
Brandon Falconer,
Thomas Lloyd,
Aidan Crawford, and
Brad Lee Jones taking the top four spots in the javelin.
In addition to the men's win, Phillips helped pilot the women's team to a runner-up finish at the meet, scoring 139 points. Sophomore
Camryn Jones-Howard was named Women's Most Valuable Performance after breaking the school and MAAC Championship record in the triple jump.
