EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 28, 2026) – Redshirt freshman
Nicolas Belmonte earned All-Rookie honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as part of the conference's postseason honors that were announced on Tuesday.
Belmonte was Mount St. Mary's primary faceoff specialist for the 2026 season. He won 132 possessions for his team and led in scooping up ground balls with 69. He surpassed 10 faceoffs or more in nine of the Mount's 13 games, including a season best 17 against Iona. In addition to his faceoff statistics, Belmonte scored a goal and assist in the Iona game. On defense, he added in four caused turnovers.
In addition to Belmonte's award, 17 members of the team achieved MAAC All-Academic status. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
Mount St. Mary's finished their season schedule on April 18.
