EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 18, 2026) – Facing a tall task in the season finale, Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse gave the faithful and their seniors something to cheer about with a comeback attempt. In the end, Siena would be able to withstand the charge and hold on for a 14-12 win.
Marcelo Carreiro led the charge with five points, earning three goals and two assists.
Kevin Whitty matched him in points with two goals and three assists.
Chris Grimaldi,
Carter Quested, and
Owen Fasulka all finished with multi-goal games.
For the second straight game,
Bennett Wright earned 20 saves. Quested and
Nate Committee added two caused turnovers each.
Mount St. Mary's finishes the year at 3-10 and 2-6 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Whitty and Carreiro put the Mount on the board first, matching Siena's two early goals in a fast offensive start. The Saints scored twice later in the frame to go ahead, 4-2.
- The 4-2 margin would repeat in the second and third quarters as the visitors opened a 12-6 score heading into the fourth.
- Grimaldi sparked the comeback with two goals. Aidan Kilduff and Fasulka closed the game further to 13-9.
- Siena scored with 4:34 left to make it 14-9. Fasulka and Carreiro combined to finish a 3-0 run for the Mount as the game wound down.
