EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 20, 2026) – Junior Bennett Wright was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week honors, announced by the conference on Monday.
 
Wright completed the season in spectacular fashion, registering 20 saves against league leader Siena, marking the second straight game he stopped 20 shots. The feat was a repeat of the previous Saturday's game at Quinnipiac.
 
The Lutherville, Maryland native finished the season with 173 saves and a percentage north of 50 percent. After leading the country in saves per game in 2025, he ranks ninth in the country this year.
 
Mount St. Mary's finished the 2026 campaign last weekend.
