HAMDEN, Conn. (April 11, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse was on the wrong side of a 14-8 defeat to Quinnipiac on Saturday afternoon in New England. With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to an overall record of 3-9 with a 2-5 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
After four unanswered goals from the Bobcats,
Owen Fasulka scored the first goal for the Mountaineers with 3:39 left in the first quarter. But, on the flip side, the Mountaineers came out firing to start the second quarter as
Brody Atkinson and Kevin Whittey scored within the first two minutes of the quarter to start the period. Quinnipiac scored two more goals before
Collin Thomson capitalized on a pass from
Aidan Kilduff for the Mount fourth goal of the afternoon. Quinnipiac scored four more goals before halftime to take a 10-4 lead into the break.
Both
Carter Quested and Dorian Connolley scored to start the third quarter while the Mount's defense held off the Bobcats attack game for a 2-0 quarter win. Connolley scored to start the final quarter off a ball from
Marcelo Carreiro before Quinnipiac responded with three more goals to cut off the resurgent Mount offense. Carreiro converted on a pass from Whittey with 2:20 left on the clock for a goal, rounding off the game for the Mountaineers.
Connolley led the Mount offense in the goal department with two scores against the Bobcats while Whittey led the team with four points off a three-assist day. Both Carreiro and Kilduff noted two point days for the Mountaineers against Quinnipiac. In goal,
Bennett Wright recorded 20 saves in goal while playing all 60 minutes for the Mountaineers.
