EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 23, 2026) – Closing out the outdoor regular season, Mount St. Mary's track & field athletes compete at either the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational, hosted by the University of Louisville, or the Red Flash Open, hosted by Saint Francis University.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Louisville's meet is a three-day affair with events starting Thursday morning. Friday's events begin at 9:30 a.m. with Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Saint Francis' meet is a one-day event covering Saturday.
MOUNT UPDATE
- Members of the team participated in the IC4A/ECAC Championships in New Jersey last weekend. Camryn Jones-Howard had the biggest highlight, breaking the school's outdoor long jump record one week after setting the triple jump record. Jones-Howard reached a height of 6.11 meters.
- Alena Murray, Joshua Dean, and Marta Gonzalez Alvarez all achieved top 10 program times for their events. Murray and Dean earned theirs in the 100m dash, while Gonzalez Alvarez earned hers in the 100m hurdles.
- A total of 15 performances earned top five times in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Abdulazeez Iyiola leads the conference for the 110m hurdles.
- More Mountaineers went to Navy for their Spring Invitational in Annapolis. Thomas Wieck led the group there with a pair of top five finishes in jumps. Tierney McCarroll finished second in the javelin.
FUTURE MEETS
- Following this weekend, the Mount will prepare to host the 2026 MAAC Championships on May 9-10 at Morgan Track.
