EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 18, 2026) – One week after breaking the outdoor triple jump record, Mount St. Mary's sophomore
Camryn Jones-Howard overtook the school's long jump record during the first day of the IC4A/ECAC Championships in Piscataway, New Jersey. As a team, they gathered 41.5 points and are in the middle of the pack.
Jones-Howard is responsible for eight of those points, earning 6.11 meters in the long jump. The distance ranks 59
th among Division I competitors. The mark surpasses the record once held by Natalia Hinton, who earned 6.09 meters in an April 2017 meet in Fairfax, Virginia.
Her effort was part of several top five efforts for the Mountaineers.
Garrett Wilkerson (400m, 47.69 seconds),
Brad Lee Jones (JT, 57.67 meters), and
Ethan Demeter (PV, 5.00m) all finished fourth for their respective events.
Sunahi Huegun (800m, 1:53.79),
Rebecca Weir (JT, 44.31m), and
Ella Dougher (PV, 3.41m) all finished fifth.
Several Mountaineers also competed at the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland. Thomas Weick excelled in both the high jump and long jump, coming in third with a 1.86 meter high jump and fifth with a 5.78 meter long jump.
Tierney McCarroll earned second in the javelin at 41.77 meters to headline the women's team.
