Flag Football Competes in First Ever Postseason Friday at Conference Carolinas Championship

EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 16, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's flag football makes its postseason debut Friday at the Conference Carolinas (CC) Women's Flag Football Championship, taking on top-seeded Wingate.
 
MOUNT UPDATE
  • Mount St. Mary's earned a pair of CC victories this season to clinch the eighth and final spot in Durham. The team defeated Mars Hill and Chowan this year.
  • In between the end of regular season in play in the CC, the Mount returned to Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) competition last weekend. The team went 2-1, defeating Saint Joseph's and Sacred Heart, while falling to Marymount.
  • Madison Kean was named First Team All-Conference for the Conference Carolinas Wednesday. The first-year player out of nearby Brunswick has 92 tackles and six interceptions.
  • Annabelle Haught has excelled at the quarterback position since taking it over mid-season. Entering the postseason, she has 838 yards passing and 15 touchdowns.
LAST BATTLE WITH WINGATE
  • The Mountaineers put up a fight against the favored Bulldogs in the early going. Haught logged a 47-yard pass to earn a 12-7 lead in the second quarter. Wingate responded with the next 51 points to take the game.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE

The winner advances to the semifinals in Durham on Saturday, April 18.
