Brandon Falconer, Joshua Dean Awarded MAAC Weekly Honors

EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 14, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's track & field athletes Brandon Falconer and Joshua Dean won weekly awards from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Falconer took Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors while Dean earned Men's Rookie of the Week honors.

Both competed at the JMU Invite in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Falconer – earning a mark for the first time this season – threw the javelin for 66.67 meters, comfortably winning the event. The distance ranks 21st among NCAA East competitors and is first among MAAC performers. The sophomore headlines a trio of Mountaineers – joining Thomas Lloyd and Brad Lee Jones – who lead the conference in javelin throwing.

Dean also won at JMU, taking first in the 100m dash with a time of 10.62 seconds. That time ranks second in the MAAC, which pairs with his already secured fifth ranked time in the league for the 200m dash. The victory is Dean's first of his college career.

The duo becomes the sixth and seventh Mountaineers to win a MAAC weekly honor this season.

Members of the team travel to either the IC4A/ECAC Championships or the Navy Spring Invitational this upcoming weekend.
