Mount St. Mary's Heads to George Mason on for Non-Conference Matchup on Wednesday

MOUNT UPDATE:
  Mount St. Mary's was swept in a three-game Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference series at Canisius this past weekend.  The Mount was outscored 6-2 in the three-game set with the Mount falling by the scores of 3-1, 1-0 and 2-1 to drop to 13-23 overall and 9-7 in the MAAC.  Avery Dinges continues to lead the Mount offense with a .402 average, 13 doubles, 27 runs scored and 31 stolen bases.  Gina Del Giorno is hitting a robust .370 with 17 runs scored and 12 steals while Sharon Manni is having a solid freshman campaign, hitting .342 with 13 runs scored and eight steals.  The pitching staff is led by the trio of Emmaleigh Zagrodnicheck (3-6, 3.32 ERA, 59.0 IP), Sophia Schmehl (4-5, 3.50 ERA, 64.0 IP) and Ellie Meier (5-4, 3.73 ERA, 50.2 IP).

ABOUT THE PATRIOTS:  George Mason won two of three games at home this past weekend against Saint Louis to improve to 22-18 overall and 9-9 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.  The duo of Tess Altevers Harris (.355, 12 2B, 6 HR, 24 RBI) and Logan Pickford (.342, 30 R, 5 HR, 20 RBI) lead the offense.  George Mason has stolen 76 bases this year, led by the trio of Altevers Harris (14), Pickford (13) and Kamryn Inman (13).  The pitching staff is led by Abbey Lane (10-5, 2.71 ERA, 113.2 IP), Alyssa Rangel (4-6, 2.89 ERA, 5 SV, 55.2 IP) and Bri Lencz (6-3, 3.14 ERA, 69.0 IP).

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  This will be the 51st all-time meeting between the Mount and George Mason with the Patriots holding a 34-16 edge in the series.  George Mason earned a 6-1 win at the Mount last year in the first matchup between the two schools since 2016.  The Mount is 10-19 all-time on the road against George Mason while the teams have split the past 12 matchups.

UP NEXT:  The Mount is back in action this weekend with a three-game MAAC series at home against Sacred Heart.  The teams will play a noon doubleheader on Saturday, April 18, followed by a single game at noon on Sunday, April 19.
