EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 30, 2026) – A pair of Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse players received Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly honors, announced by the conference on Monday.
Hailey Chester won Defensive Player of the Week honors while
Haylee Bittinger earned Rookie of the Week.
Chester led a masterclass in defending from the Mountaineers, limiting the competition to three goals scored all week. The senior registered six ground balls and six caused turnovers over the two-game stretch. This included five CT's in the 18-1 win over Marist, which serves as a career high. In terms to her defensive efforts, Chester finished the week with 13 draw controls and a goal of her own against the Red Foxes.
Bittinger competed the week with eight goals, scoring a career best five times in the win over Marist and producing another hat trick in the Mount's 17-2 win against Rider. The freshman from Manchester Valley is now third among Mountaineers in points with 23 and fourth in goals with 15.
Mount St. Mary's is 7-4 this year and 3-0 in the MAAC. They challenge Siena Wednesday (Apr. 1) in Loudonville.
