EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 27, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's flag football faced a tough test against Barton College Friday. While able to hold the Barton Bulldogs' offense at arms' length, the Mount's own offense was unable to counter in a 20-6 defeat.
Jenna Dick did showcase her versatility at the quarterback position, leading the Mountaineers in passing yardage with 98 and rushing yards with 59. She also scored the team's touchdown on the ground – her first collegiate rushing score.
Keira Speikes reached double digit tackles for the first time in her career with 11 flag pulls, including two for losses, and adding on a sack.
Chloe Lover-Omar supplied for two more sacks as well, and
Annabelle Haught earned an interception.
Alyssa Lane also had a fine individual effort with 52 receiving yards on offense and nine tackles on defense.
The Mount got on the board first with Dick's score, but Barton took a 7-6 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs then earned 13 second half points, which proved the difference in the game.
The result puts Mount St. Mary's at 3-6 for the season and 0-3 in Conference Carolinas play.
