EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 24, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse faces Iona Wednesday in their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekday game.
MOUNT UPDATE
- In a defensive battle, the Mount fell to Merrimack 9-8. Freshman Dylan Sander finished with career highs for ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (4). Goalie Bennett Wright tallied 12 saves on the afternoon.
- On offense, Aidan Kilduff completed his second consecutive hat trick. The sophomore is now second among Mountaineers for goals with 12.
- Brody Atkinson maintains his team lead for goals with 19, ranking second in the MAAC for goals per game. Kevin Whitty's 19 assists also rank second in the MAAC.
SCOUTING IONA
- The Gaels enter the game also seeking their second win after shaking off a 0-8 start with a conference win over Manhattan.
- Four Iona players have 10 or more goals this year, led by Cullen Lawry with 14. He is tied for the points lead at 25 with Carson Turissini, who is the Iona leader for assists at 13.
- Cooper Metz leads the defense with 37 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. Lead goalie Noah Perea has 102 of the team's 170 saves.
ALL-TIME SERIES
- For their inaugural meeting last year, Mount St. Mary's earned a 14-6 win over Iona in the season finale.
