MEET CENTRAL
EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 18, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's outdoor track & field begins their season with a tradition held every year on the week of St. Patrick's Day – competing in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Thursday kicks off with the heptathlon and decathlon; the men's hammer and javelin and finishing with the 10,000 meter races at night. Friday sees field events beginning at 9 a.m. and track events beginning at 10 a.m. On Saturday, the same times apply, with the bulk of finals events occurring on the track side.
MOUNT UPDATE
- Mount St. Mary's is coming off a strong performance at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships in February. The men's team took the runner-up spot while the women came in third place.
- Ethan Demeter set both a school and MAAC record in the pole vault. The sophomore finished with 5.18 meters, surpassing Arran Fahey's record in 2025.
- Madelyn Valpy reset her own record in the triple jump, reaching 12.52 meters on day two of MAAC's. Her previous indoor record was 12.35 meters at the 2025 MAAC Championships.
- 23 members of the team ranked in the top 5 among MAAC competitors in their respective events. Along with Demeter in the pole vault, Maeve Parrish ranked first in the 800m with a time of 2:13.56 at the George Mason Patriot Games.
OUTDOOR SCHEDULE
- Following the Shamrock Invitational, the Mount has two more meets in March – the Towson Invitational and the Navy Outdoor Invitational
- In April, the team competes at Messiah (Apr. 10-11), JMU (11), Navy (17-18), Louisville (24-25), and Saint Francis U (25)
- The IC4A/ECAC Championships are hosted by George Mason from April 18-19.
- Mount St. Mary's plays host to the MAAC Championships from May 9-10.
