Mount Flag Football Plays First-Ever Games at Penn State Schuylkill

EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 27, 2026) – Saturday is a historic day for Mount St. Mary's flag football as the team competes in their first games as a program. The Mount plays a tripleheader at Blue Mountain High School near Penn State Schuylkill and all games are ECAC contests.
 
MOUNT UPDATE
  • The program became Mount's 25th varsity sport in November 2024. Head Coach Sandi James was introduced as the inaugural leader of the helm not long after.
  • Keira Speikes of Frederick County became the first recruit to sign on. Now the roster is 15 players brimming with youth with 13 freshmen and two sophomores. Most athletes come from Maryland – which sponsors flag football at the high school level – but Chloe Lover-Omar joins in from Washington, D.C. and Anneabelle Haught from West Virginia.
  • There are two leagues the team competes in – Conference Carolinas and the ECAC, the latter of which is in partnership with the New York Jets.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE

On March 7, Mount St. Mary's plays a doubleheader against Wagner in ECAC play. Conference Carolinas action beginning March 14 with Mount Olive and Barton.
