EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 13, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's women's water polo hits the road for the Michigan Invite this weekend, facing off against Indiana and Mercyhurst on Saturday, February 14 while playing against McKendree and Michigan on Sunday, February 15. After a winless, 0-6 start to the season, the Mountaineers will look to get in the win column this weekend before the start of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play in early March.
MOUNT UPDATE
At the VMI Invitational last weekend
, Anna Kegel posted goals in all three games, including a hat trick against the Bison to account for half of the Mount's offense for that contest.
Kiele Davidson registered multi-goal efforts against Bucknell and Davidson while
Emily Hatcher, Claire Gebrhart, and
Taylor Wilson did the same versus SFU.
Goalies
Olivia Fernie and Dani Cervantes combined for 32 saves across the three games. Fernie alone had 13 saves in the Salem game.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
After the Hoosiers victory at the Princeton Invite over Mount St. Mary's, Indiana went on a 2-1 run at the invitational, outscoring opponents 41-25 while only falling to No. 13 Harvard by a score of 9-8. Indiana has only fallen to Harvard on the season, accumulating a record of 8-1.
After losing their first four matches of the year against UC San Diego, Arizona State, Loyola Marymount, and California Baptist, McKendree has rattled off three wins in a row against UC Merced, Carthage, and Augustana, outscoring their opponents 44-38 across their three wins.
Michigan has accumulated a record of 3-6 on the year, grabbing wins against CS Fullerton, Concordia Irvine, and No. 14 Davis, defeating the Aggies 11-5. The Wolverines have lost to No. 7 Fresno State, No. 5 California, No. 4 Hawaii, No. 7 Loyola Marymount, and No. 11 Arizona State.
Mercyhurst will play their first games of the 2026 season at the Michigan Invite.
