EMMITSBURG, MD (October 2, 2026) – Back home this Saturday, Mount St. Mary's men's soccer looks to maintain their position atop the Metro Conference standings when they host the Merrimack Warriors.
MOUNT UPDATE
Traveling to Buffalo this past Wednesday, the Mount stayed undefeated in league play with a 1-1 draw against the Golden Griffins.
Lincoln Bauer scored the team's goal with a second half strike. On the defensive end,
Ryan Collins registered five saves.
Bauer now has the team lead with nine points to go along with his team-high five assists. Both those categories rank in the top ten among Metro competitors.
The team held first place in the Metro with the result, staying one point ahead of the Fairfield Stags and Quinnipiac Bobcats.
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
A gritty, hardscrabble bunch, the Merrimack Warriors took draws in their first two Metro matches, tying Sacred Heart and Niagara. Goals are at a premium for the team with nine for the year, and Jonathan Kratz providing one-third the offense with three scores. But that is made up on the defensive end, led by goalie Matteo Malaguti's 32 saves and .744 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
Merrimack holds the edge all-time, 3-2, but the Mount captured both past meetings. The Mountaineers won 4-3 in North Andover last season, and 2-1 in Emmitsburg in 2024.
UP NEXT
One last non-conference meeting awaits the Mountaineers on Tuesday (Oct. 6), facing Bucknell at 7 PM from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
