EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 31, 2026) – Sophomore Ethan Detemer excelled at the pole vault, headlining a list of highlights for Mount St. Mary's indoor track & field at the Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason University.
Detemer reached a distance of 5.05 meters in the pole vault, which ranks top 100 in the country in a tie for 85
th. His distance is also first among Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) competitors for the event.
MOUNT HIGHLIGHTS
- Maeve Parrish leads the MAAC in the 800m after running the event in 2:13.56 based upon conversion. The time was good for second during the meet.
- Tyler Cash stands right behind Detemer in the pole vault for the conference, earning a distance of 4.60 meters at George Mason.
- Donovan Harrington won the long jump at the meet, earning a mark of 7.02 meters.
- Sunahi Huegun ranks third in the MAAC and second among Mountaineers in the 1000m run, earning a converted time of 2:32.48.
- Atebeh Awungjia (2nd, 400m, 51.26 seconds)/(3rd, TJ, 13.91m), Elizabeth Freymann (3rd, 800m, 2:18.65), Alyssa Pongracz (5th, 1000m, 3:04.29), Harrington (5th, HJ, 1.93m), Jaidyn Wiseley (3rd, HJ, 1.48m), Haille Otto (5th, HJ, 1.43m), Nando Meggs (3rd, LJ, 6.82m), Jacey Hentz (5th, PV, 3.51m), Bruno Rivera Borrallo (2nd, TJ, 14.12m), Caleb Nelson (4th, TJ, 13.35m), and Claire Ross (4th, WT, 12.70m) all earned top five finishes.
