LEWISBURG, Pa. (September 21, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's water polo fell to Fordham on Sunday afternoon by a score of 19-5. With the loss, the Mount fall to a 6-8 record on the season, with a 0-2 record in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference.
The Mountaineers were held scoreless through the first quarter as the Rams fired seven past the Mountaineer defense. The Mount finally brock the deadlock in the second, when
Aaron Tarr scored two in the period. Mount St. Mary's held the storming Fordham offense to a 3-1 quarter deficit, thanks to lock down defense from
Chrysostomos Valavanis in the center. The Mount offense scored on two occasions in the fourth, but the Fordham insurance in the first made a scoring onslaught out of reach for the Mount.
William Matthews and Tarr led the scoring with two goals a piece followed by a goal from
Aidan Zieger.
Nate Valentine recorded three steals against the Rams while
Nikolaos Agritelis drew three exclusions.
Sherif Hosni recorded 11 saves in goal as well as one assist and two steals.
