THE 2025 METRO ATLANTIC ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS: The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tennis Championships will be contested over three days in a single elimination format at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J., on April 25-27. The tournament begins with first round matchups on Thursday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m.
MOUNT MEN'S TENNIS AND THE MAAC CHAMPIONSHIPS: The Mountaineers will be competing in the MAAC Tournament for the first time since joining the league for the 2022-23 season. The Mount posted a 5-3 record in MAAC play this year, finishing in a three-way tie for second place with Siena and Fairfield. After tiebreakers, the Mount was seeded fourth in the championships.Â
MEN'S TENNIS TOURNEY SEEDS: Prior to joining the MAAC, the Mountaineers were members of the Northeast Conference (NEC) from 1989-2022. While in the NEC, the Mount men's tennis team earned the No. 4 seed on four occasions, the last being in 2021. Mount St. Mary's won three of four quarterfinal matchups as the No. 4 seed in the NEC, and holds a 3-4 all-time record as a No. 4 seed in a conference tournament.

MOUNT UPDATE:Â Mount St. Mary's closed out the regular season with a 4-3 victory at Marist on April 15 to improve to 13-6 overall and 5-3 in the MAAC.Â
Filippos Zachiotis leads the Mountaineers with 15 singles wins this year while
Alexi Roy is next with 13. In doubles play, Zachiotis and Roy each have 14 individual doubles wins. The duo of
Ryan Wagner and
Aaron Thompson went 7-1 in MAAC matches at the No. 3 doubles spot as well.
ABOUT NIAGARA: Niagara downed Rider, 4-3, on April 18 to finish the regular season 7-10 overall and 4-4 in the MAAC. The Purple Eagles earned league wins over Merrimack, Sacred Heart, Marist and Rider this season.Â
THE REGULAR SEASON MEETING:Â The Mountaineers edged Niagara,
4-3, at the Mount St. Mary's Tennis Courts on March 21. The Mount swept all three doubles matches to collect the doubles points. In singles play,
Alexi Roy (No. 2),
Filippos Zachiotis (No. 3) and
Ryan Wagner (No. 6) earned victories to clinch the match. Matches at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles each went three sets.
MOST WINS SINCE: Mount St. Mary's finished the regular season with a 13-6 record in dual matches, marking the most wins by a Mount team since going 15-7 in 2012-13. The 13 wins are tied for the fourth-most in a season in the program's Division I era (since 1988-89).

EIGHT-GAME WIN STREAK: The Mountaineers put together an eight-game win streak this spring, the longest win streak by a Mount team since the school moved to NCAA Division I in 1988-89. The previous mark was a seven-game streak in 2015-16. The streak began with a 4-3 win at Howard on February 21 and was ended in a 6-1 loss at Rider on March 28.
HOME SWEET HOME: The Mountaineers enjoyed the home court advantage this year, posting a perfect 8-0 record at home this season. Included in the eight wins were MAAC victories over Siena, Niagara, Merrimack and Sacred Heart.
ZACHIOTIS MOVING UP CAREER CHARTS: Filippos Zachiotis leads the Mount with a 15-7 overall record and a 6-2 mark in MAAC matches in singles action this year. The senior is now 56-42 all-time at the Mount in singles play, moving into fourth place on the Mount's all-time singles wins list. He is also 14-10 in doubles action this year, giving him a 66-34 all-time record at the Mount in doubles play. The 66 individual doubles wins are third on the Mount's all-time list.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES WITH NIAGARA: Mount St. Mary's is 1-6 all-time against Niagara with the lone win coming this year, a 4-3 victory at the Mount St. Mary's Tennis Courts on March 21. The Mount is 1-2 all-time against Niagara in MAAC regular season matches.Â
UP NEXT:Â The winner of the Mount's match with Niagara will advance to face top-seeded Quinnipiac on Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mercer County Tennis Center.
