Men's Tennis Puts Win Streak on the Line at Rider on Friday, Host Bucknell on Sunday

MOUNT UPDATE:  Mount St. Mary's has won eight matches in a row to move to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the MAAC.  The Mountaineers are coming off a 7-0 victory at McDaniel after posting 4-3 wins over Niagara and Siena last weekend to open MAAC play.  Alexi Roy, named the MAAC Player of the Week on Wednesday, and Filippos Zachiotis are tied for the team lead with 10 singles wins.  Both are 7-4 in dual matches this season.  Zachiotis has a team-best 13 doubles wins.   

HISTORIC WIN STREAK:  Mount St. Mary's has won eight matches in a row, the longest win streak by the team since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89.  The previous mark was a seven-game streak in 2015-16.  The Mount's 10 wins this season are the most since the 2015-16 team finished with an 11-10 mark.

ZACHIOTIS MOVING UP CAREER CHARTS:  Filippos Zachiotis continues to move up the career charts at the Mount.  Zachiotis is now 51-41 all-time in singles matches, tied for eighth all-time at the Mount in career wins.  He is also has a career record of 65-29 in doubles play, good for the third-most individual doubles wins in program history.

ABOUT RIDER:  Rider enters Friday's match with a 5-10 overall record and an 0-2 mark in the MAAC.  The Broncs are coming off a 4-2 loss to Saint Joseph's on Wednesday.  Rider has lost to Sacred Heart (4-3) and Merrimack (4-3) in MAAC play.  Dhruv Tangri is playing at No. 1 singles, and has a 6-5 mark in dual matches.

ALL-TIME SERIES WITH RIDER:  The Mount is 11-2 all-time against Rider, but the Broncs have downed the Mount in MAAC play in each of the past two seasons.  Mount St. Mary's is 5-1 all-time on the road against the Broncs.

ABOUT BUCKNELL:  Bucknell has won three matches in a row, and is now 12-5 overall and 2-0 in the Patriot League this season.  Adam Stavrakas leads the team with a 28-3 record in singles, including a perfect 17-0 in dual matches.  Amar Tahirovic is right behind with a 25-3 record in singles, including a 14-1 mark in dual matches.   

ALL-TIME SERIES WITH BUCKNELL:  Bucknell holds a 20-2 lead in the all-time series with the Mountaineers.  The Bison defeated the Mount, 7-0, last season.  The Mount won the first two all-time meetings between the two schools, but Bucknell has a 20-game win streak in the series.

UP NEXT:  The Mountaineers host a pair of MAAC matches next weekend, welcoming Merrimack on April 5 and Sacred Heart on April 6.
