EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 13, 2025) – With one final meet before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships, Mount St. Mary's track & field makes a return trip to Lynchburg, Virginia for Liberty's Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational.  Â

LAST TIME OUT: Led by
Bah Abdoulaye and his victory in the 200 meter dash, Mount St. Mary's track & field brought several accomplishments back to Emmitsburg following meets at Penn State and Liberty.Â
 Abdoulaye won the 200 meter with a time of 21.65 seconds, bolstering his name to the top of the MAAC performance list. The sophomore also placed sixth in the 60 dash finals (6.90 seconds). The pole vaulting duo of
Emelie Beckman and
Julia Kirschnick shined once again. Beckman's 3.85 meters is good for second in the MAAC, and Kirschnick's mark of 3.70 meters is fourth best. Several top 10 finishes occurred at Liberty, led by a second place showing of 3.40 meters in the pole vault by
Evyn Fitzgerald and a third place showing by
Caleb Nelson in the triple jump, achieving a mark of 14.24 meters.

LAST SEASON AT THIS MEET: Arran Fahey set the top mark in the MAAC for the men's pole vault and
Darren Hook won the men's shot put, highlighting Mount St. Mary's efforts at Liberty's Darius Dixon Invitational. Fahey came with .02 meters of Carter Nave's school record, posting 5.13 meters. Hook took the men's shot put with a mark of 14.37 meters. He was one of a handful of athletes to earn top five finishes, which also included
Will Stephenson taking second in the 60 hurdles (8.29 seconds),
Niels Peeters coming in third for the mile (4:14.83) and
Tyler Cash capturing fifth in the pole vault (4.35 meters). In total, 12 members of the team ended the weekend improving or entering the MAAC's top 10 list for their events.
