EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 1, 2025) – Freshman
Atebeh Awungjia won the triple jump, bringing home a victory for Mount St. Mary's during the Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason University. The meet was not affected by team scoring.
Awungjia took the triple jump with a distance of 13.95 meters, a mark that is good for fourth best among Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) competitors. The triple jump victory pairs with the long jump win he had at the Cardinal Track & Field Classic in January.
Two additional finishes place top five among MAAC competitors, including a league leading time of 3:00.09 in the 1000m run by
Maeve Parrish. That time gave the junior a runner-up finish. On the men's side,
Kevin Zaleski earned a time of 2:31.66 in the 1000m to take the fourth spot in the MAAC.
Top ten finishers during the Patriot Games also include
