Ivan Zivojinovic Promoted to Water Polo Interim Head Coach

EMMITSBURG, Md. (December 18, 2025)Ivan Zivojinovic has been promoted to the Interim Head Coach position ahead of the start of spring women's water polo season, announced by the university on Thursday.
 
Zivojinovic previously served as assistant coach for the Mountaineers during the 2025 fall men's season under the command of previous head coach Justin Vink. He helped to steer the program to an 11-win season in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference during the fall.
 
Before Mount St. Mary's, Zivojinovic was a five-year member of the men's water polo team at Salem University under head coach Robert Bullion in the Western Water Polo Association. Zivojinovic helped the Tigers make it to the NCAA Tournament in 2024, playing UCLA in the first round of the tournament.
 
While at Salem, Zivojinovic was named to the MAWPC West All-Conference team and All-Tournament team on two occasions. He was also named to the Western Water Polo Association's All-Conference and All-Tournament second team in 2023. 
 
Before his career at Salem, Zivojinovic had a standout career in his home country of Serbia, playing domestically at the youth level for VK Banijca, VK Stari Grad, and VK Partizan, the most successful water polo team in Serbia. 

Zivojinovic graduated from Salem with a bachelor's degree in data science and a master's degree in data analytics.
