EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 25, 2025) – The Mount St. Mary's women's track & field team finished in third place at Saturday's Gulden Invitational, while the men's team also placed top five for the meet.
Freshman Reanne Jones paced the women's teams with two strong finishes in the sprints. She won the 60m dash with a run of 7.73 seconds, while taking third in the 200m at 26.15 seconds. Field events provided a bevy of points, led by the combination of Emilie Beckman and
Julia Kirschnick in the pole vault. The duo finished second and third, with both clearing 3.65 meters. Beckman's success on the first try gave her the edge. Kirschnick also added points with a runner-up finish in the 60 meter hurdles. They were joined in podium finishes by
Rebecca Weir in the high jump – 1.59 meters to finish third – and Camyrn Jones-Howard for the long jump – a third place effort of 5.38 meters.
Three members of the men's team took home individual victories, led by
Arran Fahey's 5.10 meter effort in the pole vault. The distance came within .03 meters of his personal record and .05 for the school record.
Donovan Harrington won his second long jump event of the season by earning a distance of 7.17 meters.
Samuel Serrano finished first in the mile at 4:15.76.
Bah Abdoulaye added a top three finish by earning runner-up in the 60m dash.
Both men's relay teams earned third place for their events. The 4x400 team of
Daniel Reader, Lucas Koon Perez,
Abdulazeez Iyiola, and
Kalani Pu'uloa earned a time of 3:28.99. The 4x800 quartet of
Kevin Zaleski,
Sunahi Huegun, EJ Villaver, and
Riley Keffer completed their race in 8:16.23.
Athletes will next compete in the Mason Spring Invite on January 31.
