EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 27, 2024) – Junior
Will Stephenson excelled in the 110 meter hurdles, headlining a group of top 10 finishes as Mount St. Mary's track & field closed out the regular season at the Saint Francis University Red Flash Invite.
Running the race in 14.79 seconds, Stephenson finished in third place during the meet. The time ranks him second among Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) competitors.
The highest placed unit during the meet went to the 4x100 relay team of
Bah Abdoulaye, Lucas Koon Perez,
Joseph Poleate, and
Maximus Zitnay. The quarter finished the race in 43.26 seconds and earned a runner-up spot.
Julia Kirschnick also took runner-up as an individual with an 11.10 meter triple jump.
Additional top 10 finishes for the Mount went to Zitnay,
Nando Meggs, Poleate and Abdoulaye for the 100 meters, Zitnay in the 200 meters, Ethan Villaver for the 1500 meter, Ben Saad in the high jump, Xavier Suggs in the long jump and triple jump, and
Andrew Lamanna for the javelin. The women's team saw top 10 efforts from
Anna Hsia in the 100,
Audrey Owens in the 200 and 400,
Mary Campbell and
Erin Billigmeier in the 1500,
Ella Dougher in the 100 hurdles,
Emma Strickland in the 400 hurdles,
Jacey Hentz in the pole vault and long jump,
Jannah Hall in the long jump,
Jovana Miloradovic in the triple jump, Godwin Yalley Binney in the shot put, CeCe Bell for the discus and hammer, and
Syanni Bagwell for the hammer throw.
Next weekend kicks off the MAAC Championships, hosted by Rider University.
