Mitchell Dunham and freshman
Brody Atkinson earned spots on the all-conference teams for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), announced by the league on Friday. Dunham is an All-MAAC First Team selection for defense, and Atkinson was an All-Rookie selection.
Dunham finished the year with 69 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers. In the department of caused turnovers, he ranked ninth nationwide for CT's per game at two. He also finished 51
st for ground balls per game. Among MAAC players, Dunham was third for caused turnovers per game and seventh for ground balls. Against NJIT, the senior ended the contest with five CT's and six GB's. On offense, he added four assists on teammate's goals.
Atkinson led the Mountaineers in points scored and goals collected, with a respective 43 and 30 for the year. The first-year player from Manchester, Md. added 17 ground balls and finished second on the team with 13 assists. He finished the year with six hat tricks including two goals of four goals against Binghamton and Marist.
This award is Dunham's third postseason conference honor and Atkinson's first.
Alongside the postseason honors, the MAAC released its All-Academic Team in which 26 members of the Mount were included. A full list of honorees is below.
