EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 21, 2024) – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) games continue this Saturday in New Rochelle, New York as Mount St. Mary's challenges Iona and Siena.
 
MOUNT UPDATE: A win over VMI helped the Mountaineers obtain a 1-2 start in MAAC play. Anna Kegel collected hat tricks in all three showdowns, and Anita Radaelli led the goal count in the Keydets' win with four. Kailee Viers and Emily Myers scored their first collegiate goals in the winning effort.
 
Ana Luisa Cotta has the most goals for the Mount with 44. Radaelli leads in assists at 38 and steals at 36. Heather Lock continues to draw exclusions, hitting 50 for the season this weekend.
 
THE COMPETITION: Iona is 7-12 on the season and is 1-2 in the MAAC, defeating La Salle by a goal and falling to LIU and Villanova. The Gaels' duo of Sadie Sallas and Lola Trujillo lead the offense, scoring 67 of the team's 190 goals. Siena is 7-11 and still seeking their first conference win. The Saints have a more profilic offense, led by 65 points from Parker Thomas, but have conceded 378 goals to their competition this year.  
 
PREVIOUS HISTORY: Against Siena, the Mount is 2-0 with both wins happening in MAAC play last year. Against Iona, the team has a win in March of 2023 while they are 1-3 all-time.  
 
UP NEXT: The team's home weekend takes place on March 29. Mount will host games against Siena and Marist, and the two opponents play in a neutral site contest that day as well.
