EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 9, 2024) – Heading into their third weekend with a 6-1 record, Mount St. Mary's women's water polo looks to continue its great beginning, facing four more challenges at the Bucknell Invite.
 
MOUNT UPDATE: Solid offensive showings have paced the Mountaineers, who score the ball at an efficient 46 percent. Ana Luisa Cotta has the highest goal count at 22, followed by 13 from Heather Lock. Anita Radaelli has the most assists and steals at a respective 17 and 16. Lock draws the greatest number of exclusions at 20, four of which drew penalties. Olivia Fernie and Hannah Keyser have split time in the cage, with Fernie holding the save lead at 25.
 
The Mountaineers went 3-0 last weekend at VMI, defeating McKendree, Gannon, and Mercyhurst.
 
THE COMPETITION: La Salle is 3-2 and coming off a two-win weekend at the Bruno Classic in Rhode Island. Villanova is 8-1 after picking up their first defeat to #8 Princeton in their last game. Mercyhurst faces the Mount for the third time and remains winless at 0-8. Saint Francis also comes to Lewisburg in search of their first victory.
 
PREVIOUS HISTORY: Since the program began, the Mount has earned six wins over Mercyhurst, two over Saint Francis, and one each against La Salle and Villanova.
