EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 23, 2024) – Making the trek to the Big Apple, Mount St. Mary's indoor track & field will compete for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship this weekend.

MOUNT UPDATE: The final meet of the regular season was the one-day Father Diamond Invitational, hosted by George Mason.
Renaldi Falwell broke the school record in the weight throw, achieving 18.54 meters.
Gabriel Nwaete won the men's high jump, part of a group of 15 finishers with top five placements.

MOUNTAINEERS IN THE MAAC: Entering the weekend, Mount St. Mary's has 52 times and marks that place in the top 10 among MAAC competitors. Four members of the team –
Arran Fahey,
Emelie Beckman,
Justin Sluijter, and
Cyre Hooper – possess marks that lead the conference. Field performers edge track runners, 29-23, in top 10 times. Â

2023 INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Six gold medals highlighted a successful last day at the 2023 Championships. The men finished second in the standings while the women placed third.
Zionna Perez-Tucker and
Dylan LaNoue received Most Outstanding Performer honors.
Richard Gilchrist set a MAAC and school record for the 60 meter hurdles.

UP NEXT: Indoor season wraps up with the IC4A Championships in early March in Boston. The outdoor season kicks off March 14 with the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in South Carolina.Â
