The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's tennis teams are set to compete at the inaugural MAAC Masters Tournament which will be hosted by Quinnipiac University on October 4-6.  Filippos Zachiotis and Alexi Roy will compete for the men's team while Venus Tang and Emma Perkins will compete in the women's bracket.  The four will be competing in both singles and doubles draws.

ABOUT THE MAAC MASTERS:  The 2024 MAAC Masters Tournament will determine the men's and women's tennis singles and doubles representatives at the 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championship. The winning individuals and pairs will earn an automatic bid to the 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championship, which will take place at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California, from November 7-10.

Round of 32:  Alexi Roy vs. Charles Robertson, Merrimack, 12 pm
Round of 16:  Filippos Zachiotis vs. TBA, 3 pm

Men's Doubles Saturday
Round of 16:  Filippos Zachiotis/Alexi Roy vs. Yasha Laskin/Donovan Brown (Quinnipiac), 12:30 pm

Women's Singles Friday
Round of 32:  Venus Tang vs. Manuela Gomez (Siena), 9 am
Round of 32:  Emma Perkins vs. Maria Melo (Niagara), 12 pm

Women's Doubles Saturday
Round of 16:  Venus Tang/Emma Perkins vs. Saloni Tamang/Isabel Carolina Garcia Torra (Niagara), 10:30 am

NEWS AND NOTES:  Freshmen Venus Tang and Emma Perkins will be competing for the Mount at the MAAC Masters.  Tang is 6-2 in singles competition in her first season at the Mount while Perkins has a 4-4 mark.  The duo has teamed up for a 4-1 mark in doubles play this year.  On the men's side, senior Filippos Zachiotis and freshman Alexi Roy will be the Mount's participants.  Zachiotis is 4-0 this season to move his career mark in singles play to 45-35 while Roy is 3-1 in his debut season for the Mount.  The pair have posted a 2-2 mark in doubles action this year.

UP NEXT:  The Mount men's tennis team is at the ITA Atlantic Regionals in Norfolk, Va., on October 10-14.  The women's team will compete at the ITA Atlantic Regionals in Charlottesville, Va., on October 17-22.
