BUFFALO, N.Y. (January 5, 2024) – Rounding out the Upstate New York trip in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play, Mount St. Mary's battles Niagara Saturday.

MOUNT UPDATE

The Mount continues to seek its first MAAC victory after falling 62-49 to Canisius on the first leg of the journey. Jada Lee set a career high in points and Isabella Hunt recorded her fifth career double-double. Coming off the bench, Giana Hoddinott turned in career highs for rebounds, steals, and minutes played.

A victory in Lewiston notches the team their third road win of the year, which will match last year's total. Mount has been road warriors early in the campaign, with three times as many games away from Knott Arena than at home. Over the past two seasons, the Mount is 20-13 at home versus 11-25 on the road.

SCOUTING NIAGARA

The Purple Eagles represented in the MAAC in the WNIT last year after coming in second behind Iona. Acknowledged as preseason favorites at the start of the year, Niagara is 2-1 in the league, with a recent loss to Fairfield Thursday.

Aggressive play, forcing turnovers and earning steals, is Niagara's mantra. They rank fifth nationwide in turnovers forced per game at almost 25 a game and are seventh in steals at over 13. They are also third in the MAAC in scoring, with Aaliyah Parker leading a balanced scoring attack with 10.6 points per game.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

After the Mount captured the first meeting back in 1989, Niagara has won each of the last four. This includes sweeping the two meetings in last year's MAAC season.

LOOKING AHEAD

Returning to Emmitsburg, Mount St. Mary's hosts Quinnipiac Thursday (Jan. 11) at Knott Arena.
