EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 7, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's women's basketball fell to the Merrimack Warriors 62-48, concluding their 2025-26 season. After matching the energy of the Warriors in the first half, the Mount fell to a Merrimack charge during the third quarter and early into the fourth.
Nyodie Guerard set a new career high, leading the Mount with 14 points, including a quartet of three-point makes.
Amber Bullard also had an excellent effort with a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Merrimack was led by Madison Roman's 22 points and 18 rebounds. The Warriors advance to meet the Fairfield Stags in the semifinals.
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Buckets by Bullard and Alana Powell gave the Mount an initial lead of 6-2. Merrimack rallied and the two sides traded blows until Bullard hit another layup to give the Mountaineers a 16-14 edge after the first quarter.
- Guerard began hitting her stride, sinking a triple to give the Mount its biggest advantage of 26-19. The Warriors responded with the last seven points of the quarter for a 26-26 halftime score.
- Merrimack took charge with the first five points of the second half as well, combining for a 12-0 run. Guerard tallied a layup to stop the run, but the Warriors advanced further, building a 47-37 lead entering the fourth. Jaedyn Jamison scored her ultimate collegiate basket late in the frame and would finish with two points and seven rebounds.
- Mikaela Parris, Deniz Torgut, and Giana Hoddinott would score their final career points in the fourth quarter. Parris hit a layup at the start of the frame, Torgut would get her layup in the closing minutes, and Hoddinott hit free throws for the Mount's final points of the season.
Mount St. Mary's finishes the 2025-26 season with a 15-15 record.
