Women's Soccer Falls to Robert Morris

Box Score Emmitsburg, Md. (September 6, 2023)--Mount St. Mary's fell to unbeaten Robert Morris, 3-0, on a hot and steamy day at Waldron Family Stadium.  Goalkeeper Klil Keshwar recorded nine saves for the Mountaineers in the game.

Robert Morris (6-0-1) took control of the game in the opening half, taking the lead in the 11th minute.  Jillian Marvin tapped home a cross from Emily Rocco with Kaoru Hayashi also picking up an assist on the play.  Keshwar came away with five of her nine saves in the first half to keep it a one-goal game heading to the break.

The Colonials added to the lead in the 62nd minute when Taylor Day knocked in a cross from Haleigh Finale.  Lidia Nduka's goal in the 73rd minute rounded out the scoring.  The Mount (1-4-1) did have several good scoring opportunities down the stretch with Cassidy Nichols stopped in the 86th minute and Madison Bee in the 88th minute.  Robert Morris held a 20-to-6 shot advantage in the game including a 12-to-3 edge in shots on goal.  The Colonials had seven corner kicks to the Mount's three.  Bee led the Mount with a pair of shots.

Mount St. Mary's opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at home on Saturday, September 9, when Iona visits Waldron Family Stadium.  Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
