Mount Men's Tennis to Host Niagara on Sunday, Visit Saint Francis U on Monday

MOUNT UPDATE:  Mount St. Mary's opened Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with a 6-1 loss to Siena on March 19, dropping the Mount's record to 2-8 overall and 0-1 in the MAAC.  Filippos Zachiotis had the lone point for the Mountaineers against Siena with his win at No. 2 singles.. Zachiotis leads the Mountaineers with a 9-6 record in singles action this year.  In doubles play, Zachiotis and Jarrett Karnibad improved to 14-3 on the season with a win at the No. 1 doubles position against Siena. 

ABOUT NIAGARA:  Niagara opened MAAC play with a 4-3 loss to Quinnipiac on March 4 and enter the match with the Mount 3-10 overall and 0-1 in the MAAC.  The Purple Eagles went 0-4 on their spring trip with losses to Denison, Fairleigh Dickinson, Keiser and Marquette.  Niagara is led by Trevor Masi, who has posted a 6-3 this season in singles play. 

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. NIAGARA:  The Mount is 0-4 all-time against Niagara, with the most recent match a 4-3 loss to the Purple Eagles on March 18, 2017.  This will be the first meeting between the two schools in Emmitsburg since Niagara's 4-3 win over the Mount on March 16, 2012.
 
ABOUT SAINT FRANCIS U: Saint Francis U is 3-10 on the season after dropping matches to the College of Charleston, Saint Louis and George Mason last week in Hilton Head, S.C.  The Red Flash will play at Duquesne on Saturday before hosting the Mountaineers on Monday.  Adam Kush leads Saint Francis U with 14 singles wins this season.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. SAINT FRANCIS U: The Mountaineers hold a 21-18 lead in the all-time series with former Northeast Conference rival Saint Francis U.  The Mount's 4-0 win over Saint Francis on March 14, 2021, in the last meeting snapped a seven-match losing streak against the Red Flash.
