Myrtle Beach, S.C.--The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams posted a strong performance at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational hosted at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium this weekend.Â
Todd Charles and
Richard Gilchrist led the way with first place finishes.
Charles won the 100m dash with a time of 10.48 seconds to claim the gold medal in the event. Charles also had a time of 10.48 seconds in the preliminary round. Gilchrist took home first place in the 110m hurdles with a winning time of 14.04 seconds.
Justyn Seivright had a strong performance in the 400m hurdles, finishing second with a time of 54.53 seconds.Â
Arran Fahey earned a second place mark in the pole vault, clearing 4.76m (15' 7.25"). The Mount's men's 4x100m relay team finished second with a time of 41.40 seconds while the 4x400m relay finished second with a time of 3:20.07.
John Wang finished third in the 10,000m run with a time of 31:07.19, moving him into eight place on the Mount's all-time top 10 list.Â
Renaldi Falwell also scored for the Mount at the meet, finishing eighth in the shot put (14.46m).
For the women's team,
Maeve Parrish was third in the 800m (2:20.81) with
Elizabeth Freymann finishing third in the mile (5:12.70).Â
Jaelyn Chevannes was eighth in the high jump (1.58m) while the 4x200m and 4x800m relay squads each finished in third place.
