EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 16, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's men's soccer looks to pick up points for the third game in a row as they travel to Quinnipiac.
MOUNT UPDATE: Freshmen
Kris Kolar Leban and
Maks Czyz kicked home goals last Saturday as the Mountaineers defeated Canisius 2-1. The scores marked the first for each athlete.
Fellow freshman
Junee Lee continues to lead the Mount in points with seven.
Erick Villatoro added an assist on the Kolar Leban goal for his fifth point, second most on the team.
Combined with a 1-1 draw with Marist, the team has earned four points in the last two games, placing them in a tie with Rider for the sixth and final playoff spot. The Mountaineers and Broncs meet up on October 25 in Emmitsburg.
ABOUT QUINNIPIAC: Searching for their first MAAC victory, the Bobcats enter Wednesday on two points – draws against Canisius and Rider.
Brage Aasen has five goals for the Bobcats so far this season, which is tied with three players for second-most in the league. Tomas Svecula is second with eight points, six of them on assists.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Former members of the Northeast Conference together, Mount St. Mary's and Quinnipiac have 16 previous contests against each other. Mount holds the upper hand all-time, 9-6-1, but the Bobcats captured the last two meetings.
