Mount Track Completes Busy Weekend of Action

FINAL RESULTS (SPIRE) | FINAL RESULTS (GEORGE MASON)

January 28, 2023—The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams put together a solid weekend of performances at both the SPIRE Collegiate Invitational and the George Mason Patriot Games.
At the SPIRE Collegiate Invitational on Friday night, the Mount had a slew of athletes take home first-place honors at the meet.

On the women's side, Zionna Perez-Tucker won the 60m dash with a time of 7.62 seconds, besting her previous Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) leading time by .01 seconds.  Perez-Tucker also came home with first place in the 200m with a mark of 25.13 seconds, also the top mark in the MAAC this year.  Elizabeth Freyman was the winner in the mile (5:14.76), Jovana Miloradovic won the triple jump (11.24m, 36' 10.5") and Faith Edwards in the long jump (4.72m, 15' 5.75").

Finishing in second place at SPIRE were Dominique Jeffery in the 400m (59.40), Sarah Purdy in the 60m hurdles (9.41) and Keighan Decoff in both the shot put (12.00m, 39' 4.5") and the weight throw (13.89m, 45' 7").

For the men at SPIRE, Toddy Charles captured first place in the 60m dash with a time of 6.79 seconds while finishing second in the 200m in a time of 21.84 seconds. Dylan LaNoue had a strong performance by finishing first in the triple jump (14.35m, 47' 1") and second in the high jump (2.04m, 6' 8.25").

Other winners include John Wang in the mile (4:14.97), Richard Gilchrist in the 60m hurdles (7.89), Michael Chipi in the 3,000m (8:55.92) and Arran Fahey in the pole vault (4.55m, 14' 11.25").  Drake Tews was second in the long jump (6.75m, 22' 1.75") and Justyn Seivright was second in the 400m (49.70).

At the George Mason Patriot Games, the top performers for the women were Simone Smith, who finished third in the long jump at 5.18m, and for the men, Reginald Hankins, who was third in the high jump at 1.85m.

The Mount track teams returns to action next weekend with athletes at the Sykes Sabock Invitational hosted by Penn State and the Frank Corden Classic hosted by Ursinus.
