EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 18, 2022) – During Tuesday's announcement of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) preseason poll and All-Preseason Team, Mount St. Mary's
Michaela Harrison received a place on the Preseason Third Team. As a team, the Mount was picked eighth among a poll voted on by the conference's 11 head coaches.
Harrison is entering her fifth season as a Mountaineer, looking to further etch her name in the record books. She stands 10
th on the all-time list with 1,413 points and already achieved becoming the school's all-time three-point leader.
Last season, the Cleveland, Ohio native averaged 11.2 points per game starting all 29 contests. Harrison added 52 rebounds, a team-high 36 steals, 25 assists and eight blocks.
Quinnipiac took first place in a tight coaches' poll, earning 117 points and eight first place votes to Manhattan's 112 points and three first place votes. Niagara, defending champion Fairfield, Iona, Marist, Rider, Mount St. Mary's, Canisius, Siena and Saint Peter's.
Mount St. Mary's is in their fist season in the MAAC after a 33-year stint in the Northeast Conference. The 2022-23 season begins with a 5 p.m. tip-off at Virginia Tech.
