WATCH | LIVE STATS

EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 16, 2022) – With snowy conditions looming in Emmitsburg, Mount St. Mary's challenges Merrimack to conclude a four-game homestand.

THE MATCHUP

Merrimack is in transition to Division I and is in their third year as a member of the Northeast Conference. In the four meetings between the Mountaineers and Warriors, the Mount has taken three, including a sweep of last season's games.

Michaela Harrison registered her 1,000th point against Merrimack in their most recent faceoff – a 59-58 squeaker won by the Mount.

MOUNTAINEER REPORT

The Mount stands 2-1 on the homestand and 2-3 in the NEC. Last Saturday, Kendall Bresee recorded her third straight double-double, earning 25 points and 11 rebounds as the home squad beat Bryant by a 68-52 final. The team held the Bulldogs to 17 second-half points to storm back from being down at half, marking the first comeback from the break since the 2021 NEC Semifinals.

Harrison has a chance to make another milestone against the Warriors. Against Bryant, the senior tied the school record for three-pointers with her 237th, tallying four in the win with the Bulldogs. One triple will surpass Myriam Baccouche's all-time record set in 2004.

Mount St. Mary's stands in a five-way tie for fifth place in the NEC – a group that includes Merrimack.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS

Aided by some forfeitures, Merrimack started 2-0 but the Warriors have been sliding in the standings ever since. After suffering a heartbreaking double overtime loss versus Fairleigh Dickinson, the team has taken setbacks from Central Connecticut and Saint Francis U on the way to Emmitsburg.

Mayson Kimball and Kate Mager lead the squad in scoring, with Kimball averaging 13.6 points and Mager averaging 11.6. Teneshia Brown and Paige McCormick take charge in rebounding and Jayme DeCesare delivers the most assists in a balanced effort.

UPDATED FAN POLICY

Due to the increased prevalence of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, the following policies will be implemented for home games:

• Masks are required by Frederick County at all times in any indoor space. Failure to comply will result in a verbal warning the first time and removal from the arena for subsequent violations.
• Concessions and alcohol sales will NOT BE AVAILABLE for the upcoming homestand of women's basketball games.
• Courtside seating has been removed to help maintain the health and safety of our team and community.

Mount St. Mary's University continues to monitor conditions closely and reserve the right to adjust our COVID-19 protocols as needed to maintain the health and safety of our community.
