Mount St. Mary’s Women Rugby Gives up Lead Late to Queens

EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 11, 2021) – The Mount St. Mary's women's rugby team falls to Queens University 21-17 after the Mount goes up 12-0 early, but allows the Royals to end the game on a 21-5 run.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Mount got off to a stolid start going up 12-0 on the Royals.
  • Lisa Madray scored the first try with a Maya Grassi conversion kick and Grassi then scored the second try, but missed the conversion kick
  • Queens then went on a 21-5 run to close out the game with Allie English scoring two tries for the Royals.
  •  Jalana Jade Garcia scored the third try for the Mountaineers and her second try of the season.
  • Shelby Tippin, Teaghan Steele, and MiKayla Tatum each scored a try for the Royals during the run.

NEXT UP
The Mount will return to Echo Field on Saturday, April 17th at 1:00 p.m. to face Navy.
